MKV is not playable on Windows Phone. You should convert .mkv to .wmv which is created by Microsoft and well compatible with Windows-based software and programs.

I don't vote for free converter program. I got several AVI movies before and convert them to MOV with a free converter. After conversion, I found some parts of the movie are missing. It a 2-hour movie, but the converted video remain half. It drove me mad. Now I turn to Mac Video Converter software. ...
