*.rsf files are plaintext header files for data stored in the RSF format. This header provides the location of the data file and various parameters relating to the data contained

*.rsf@ are binary data files in the RSF format.

Typically these are paired, with a header file and it's associated data file, which may be in a different location. It is also possible to store both the plaintext header and binary data in a single file.

This format is associated with the Madagascar package http://www.ahay.org/. Additional info on the RSF format is available at http://www.reproducibility.org/RSF/book/rsf/rsf/format_html/
