Hi there.

Being totally new to the world of obscure file extensions, is there a way of converting CCTV footage stored in .msx to .avi so the clips can be played in VCL programme.
The conversion does not necessary have to be .avi, any conversion that will play on VCL or Windows media would be great.

Well generally, you would get a software to your camera system that can export the proprietary video format (in your case .msx) to other formats, like AVI. But in most cases such conversion would remove time stamps which are typically stored in encrypted part of the video, so such video would not be viable as proof and such.

Which brand of cameras produces .msx video recordings btw ?
