I'm looking for a downloadable PDF to Jpeg or PNG program that will spit out images at at least 1200 dpi. I'm aware that there are online converters that work up to 4000 dpi, but i have sensitive documents that i cannot upload. Anyone know of a suitable program?

Well, the most obvious (and not cheapest) solution would be to use Adobe Acrobat. Alternatively, you have to use some open source programs like PDF Creator.

On Mac OSX, you can also use Preview, I don't think you can control the quality this way, though.

You also could try ghostscript, a command line utility that will run on linux, mac os x systems, and windows. This is probably not the best option unless you have a lot of pdfs to convert or want to automate this in a script.
